Single Mum looking to date again?

Dating

Well, what a strange few months it has been! It’s also been a pretty tough time for many of us and 2020 certainly hasn’t turned out the way any of us would have ever imagined. If you’d have told me this time last year that we would have spent months unable to leave the house and there’d be a killer virus on the loose then I never would have believed you. Nobody could have predicted or planned for the scenario we’ve all found ourselves in thanks to Covid-19. We’ve all been impacted, but I think the lockdown has been particularly difficult for single Mums. But now we’re starting to see restrictions being lifted, it’s time to start living our lives again.

A tough few months

I know that many single Mums really crave and need time with other adults just to keep them sane! Spending 24 hours every day with just your children is really tough, no matter how much you love them.

Single Mums often rely on groups where they can socialise with their children and the odd night out where they can get themselves glammed up and head out for a date or a night out with friends.  Of course, lockdown restrictions have brought a stop to all of that!

Single parents across the world have been stuck at home alone with their children, there’s been no school, no nursery and no help from family for months. It has been an incredibly tough time! Many parents have also been working from home too, so it’s been difficult, stressful and incredibly lonely!

The end is in sight

Now though, although the threat of catching Covid-19 hasn’t completely gone away, we are gradually being allowed to do more and more outside of the home. This means that single Mums and Dads can start to think about entering the dating world again – what a relief!

But, after months of living in solitary confinement with only our little people for company, this is actually quite a daunting prospect.

The thought of actually going out and meeting somebody after so long away from that world is going to feel a little strange. But it’s time to start living our lives again!

There are a few small things you can do to ease yourself back into the dating world.

Join a dating site

Dating sites are a great way to ease yourself back into the world of dating. You can spend as much time as you like browsing potential dating profiles and figuring out who you would like to actually meet in real life. Websites such as nostringsdating net are the perfect place to do this with no pressure.

Video dating

Video dating has been really popular during lockdown and is actually a great way for you to start dating again even as the restrictions start to ease. You can see your date and chat to them face to face without actually having to physically meet them. This gives you a great opportunity to figure out whether you’d like to take it a step further and meet up with them in real life. Depending on the kind of date you’re looking for, you can use an adult dating site to arrange a video date.

Be kind to yourself

You’re going to find it strange when you first start dating again, but taking the first step is the hardest. Once you’ve got over your fears, just let yourself enjoy things and appreciate that you’re able to actually go out and meet people again (as long as you abide by any social distancing laws currently in places). Give yourself time to get ready, and smile, laugh and enjoy some adult company once more.
